hey there! Let’s start this thing.

Welcome to the blog! If you’re here, chances are you love photography, storytelling, or maybe you just stumbled in while scrolling - either way, I’m so glad you’re here! Grab a coffee and stay awhile.

I figured for my first post, I’d introduce myself and share a little bit about why I do what I do. My love for photography started when I was young, inspired by my grandmother who always had a camera or a book in hand. She was always capturing the beauty around her. I vividly remember looking over a photographers of National Geographic book that she had literally HUNDREDS of times. She had (and still has) boxes and boxes of photographs and rolls of film that I still enjoy pulling out with the family at her house on Christmas eve. It was amazing to me even as a child how a photograph, just one still photo, could tell such a story. I became obsessed with preserving moments - real, fleeting messy and beautiful.

Growing up, I tried my hand at every creative outlet imaginable, but let’s just say drawing and painting aren’t my strong suits (Yes, even my stick figures are questionable) and I am certainly no ballerina. Photography though? That has always felt like home. The creativity behind my photography just stems from me romanticizing life. I am always thinking how can I change my lighting, my angles, my composition or change up my gear to tell the story the way I see it and feel it. I spent high school snapping photos of my friends and family and now, as a mom, capturing my own little crew and our unique story is what fuels my passion to preserve other families memories for them to cherish the same way I do.

I do it for the in-between moments, the memories and the magic of freezing time, even just for a second. Whether you are here following along as a client, a fellow photographer or just someone who loves a good story, I hope this blog becomes a space that inspires you, makes you laugh or at least gives you a reason to look at your own story a little differently.

So, here’s to the start of something new and fun! Stay tuned for photography tips, behind the scenes stories, and probably (okay, certainly) a little chaos along the way.

Thanks for being here, it’s nice to see you in the HIVE. 💛
